Where are they now? Oregon Shakespeare Festival: Ashland Oregon

We at the blue Moon have been wondering where some of our favorite actors from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival were this year, we missed their names on the billboard.

Mark Bedard and John Tufts who you we are sure you remember them appearing together in "Cocoanuts" and "Animal Crackers" they are now playing in "Pride and Prejudice" at the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival in New York until September.
One of our favorite actors Michael Winters whom we loved in "All the Way" and" King Lear" has been appearing at the Taproot Theatre in Seattle. We miss them all and hope to see them in Ashland again very soon.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival plays, so much to love!

Jean-Pierre and I close our Inn during November until early February every year to travel around the US and Europe. During our off time we get to visit small hotels and B&Bs, it's a great way for us to see how other Inns operate. We really enjoy our time away and have a wonderful three months of traveling and meeting with family and friends around the world. But we love coming home to Ashland Oregon, we always feel energized and excited to start a new season at the Blue Moon. We especially look forward to seeing returning guests and meeting new folks who find their way to our Inn. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is in full swing as I write this, we have already seen four plays so far this season, there are so many exciting and unusual plays to enjoy this year, and like you we can't wait to see every one of them. The plays we have seen so far have been fabulous. They are a new play Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles, which was absolutely magical. And two Shakespeare history plays;Henry IV part one and Julius Caesar, both highly creative and inspiring, and last but not least Shakespeare in Love, a romantic, fanciful and brilliant romp with exquisitely beautiful costumes. We enjoyed all these outstanding plays immensely. We are looking forward to sharing enthusiastic conversations with you about this extraordinary 2017 season.

Julius Caesar at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival

Julius Caesar at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival is an absolutely brilliant production.

Shakespeare's words come to life through vivid portrayals of the characters by the whole cast. It's a play about how absolute power corrupts. Caesar is an overly ambitious leader and wants to be adored, he thinks that he alone can rule Rome.
His controversial leadership puts the whole society of Rome in jeopardy. Caesar makes many enemies, whom he thinks are his friends. Even when he is warned "Beware the Ides of March" he will not heed the warning because he thinks he is invincible.
These intense issues in Shakespeare's play are very relevant in our modern world.
The success of the show is due to the unique vision of director Shana Cooper who's lively and bold interpretation of Shakespeare words have the whole audience on the edge of their seats. Shana and choreographer Erika Chong Shuch have created beautifully stylized and striking battle scenes full of intense modern dance movements, this is a very original way of interpreting how gruesome battle is.
This is a must see play and one of the best productions we have seen at OSF.
